Unix Timestamp Converter
Convert Unix timestamps to readable dates.
How this tool works
A Unix timestamp represents time as the number of seconds or milliseconds elapsed since 1 January 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC. The value is widely used in software logs, APIs and data exports.
How to use it
- Paste the numeric timestamp.
- Select Convert.
- Read the resulting ISO date-time and note that the output is shown in UTC.
Example and practical tips
A 10-digit timestamp is often measured in seconds, while a 13-digit value is often measured in milliseconds. This tool uses the numeric magnitude to choose between those two common formats.
Check the source system’s documentation before converting. Some systems use milliseconds, seconds, microseconds or custom epochs; the converter supports the common seconds/milliseconds interpretation and cannot infer an undocumented format.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the output end in Z?
The Z suffix indicates that the ISO date-time is expressed in UTC.
What if my timestamp is from another unit?
Convert it to seconds or milliseconds first according to the source system’s documentation.
