How this tool works

A tip calculator estimates a tip amount, the bill total after the tip, and a per-person share when a bill is split. It is useful for checking different tipping percentages before paying.

How to use it

1. Enter the bill amount.
2. Enter the tip percentage and the number of people sharing the bill.
3. Select Calculate and review the tip, total and each person’s share.

Example and practical tips

For a bill of 50 and a 10% tip, the tip is 5 and the total is 55. If two people split the total equally, each share is 27.50.

Use the same currency units for every amount and enter at least one person. This is an arithmetic helper; it does not know local tipping customs, taxes already included on a bill, or a venue’s service-charge rules.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include tax?

It only uses the bill amount you enter; include any amount you want split in that field.

Can it split unequally?

The current tool divides the total evenly among the number of people entered.
